First-Ever Diabetes Summit a Great Success! | The Global Diabetes Summit held in Columbus, Ohio at the beginning of December was a HUGE SUCCESS! In attendance were over 650 diabetes experts including researchers and physicians. During the Summit, The Ohio State University Medical Center, a worldwide leader in the management and prevention of diabetes, played host to experts from 14 countries and five continents. The National Diabetes Resource Center is showcasing the most profound and intriguing findings presented at the summit in our newsletter. VIEW OUR NEWSLETTER HERE! During the community event, health screenings and cooking demonstrations were among some of the great activities available to the more than 600 public attendees. Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman conducted opening ceremonies, after which experts from around the globe shared the latest research and discoveries on diabetes. | |

You Can Help to Reduce the Cost of Life with Diabetes!! | Ohio is now one of only four states in the Union that has not yet ratified The Diabetes Cost Reduction Act. The passage of this bill (House Bill 137 or Senate Bill 99) would bring assistance to nearly a quarter of a million people with diabetes in the state of Ohio. The Act would bring both educational materials and medical supplies to persons with Diabetes that may not otherwise have access to them. Please show your support by contacting your local representative and express your desire to pass either House Bill 137 and/or Senate Bill 99.
